How to install GDS2 software on VMware Player

GDS2 VMWare installation tips and guides for newbies:

Install the VM player as admin (right click on it and select run as admin).
Once have vm player installed on your machine, forget all about the VM player app start icon, since you not going to use it, since the xp version it has set up under it, will not work with nothing else but GDS2 software.
Now copy the GDS2 folder from the disc, to somewhere on your drive (folder and the files in it).
Now in that GDS2 folder you just copied to your hard drive, your going to right click on the VM.vmx file inside that folder and select to open it with Vm player app (selected from programs from the list).
If you want a icon to click on to open the GDS2 program via VM player without having to go into the folder each time, do a copy on the VM.vmx file via the right click method, go over to your desk top, do a right click paste of it there to make a short cut, do another click on the shortcut icon you just pasted into desk top, go down to rename, and just change the shortcut name to GSD2. Now when you click on the new icon named GSD2 you just made, it will open up GDS2 in the vm player.
If you want the icon in the start drop down menu, then right click on it again, and select pin to start menu (classic in my case, since I run classic shell since windows 8).
Hence you don't start the GDS2 program by clicking on VM player, but by clicking on the vm.vmx file in the program, with it desinated to be opened up via VM player instead. Note if you do the GDS2 shortcut icon, make sure that is selected to open up with VM player as well.

Note that SPS functions are exist with Global Tis! GDS2 haven't SPS, just for only diagnostic procedures.

Once did a 458 with Digiprog 3.
Someone doubt that DP3 can do this. But for me, it works! Though it is a clone, but the software is same as original tool.
The tools only needs to read the EEPROM, we know Digiprog can do this for many other cars without problem, so if it reads the correct mileage so I don’t see much risk.
But the mileage is also in the ECU of Ferrari.

The main difference between cgdi mb and vvdi mb is that, on old Mercedes, cgdi mb is able to OBD program a new key while you have to disassemble EIS to add a new key with vvdi mb tool. That is why you should have a cgdi programmer for mb.

With VVDI MB, you should buy Vvdi prog too, because the are some eis and ecu’s that you cant do with MB Tool independently. For example some w210 eis or Sprinter 906. You should have both, VVDI MB Tool and VVDI prog. Or, if you have to buy some tool again, Simon Touch is the best, but its more expensive.
But if you have a CGDI MB, you have a chance to program a new key through OBD. All done with a tool. That’s the reason why I bought it.

What is coding?
Take BMW coding.
It is a process utilized by BMW, which groups system specific operating requirements (Data) together and then assigns a label/code to each of these groups of data. The various groups of data are all pre-loaded into system specific “codable” control modules, along with a basic set of operating instructions (Program).
There are various types of operating requirements such as; O2 sensors, emissions controls, fuel type, Manual or Auto transmission.
The procedure of assigning one specifically labeled group of data to the operating program of a specific control module/component is referred to as “coding”. Coding allows a specific set of data already present in the module to be selected.
A “codable” control module has a basic operating program already installed along with several specific variations of operating data. The coding process allows a specific set of operating data to be assigned to the basic operating program of that module/component, with respect to its specific application.
Coding can be performed for some systems/components via ISTA/P or the older DIS/Plus/GT1/SSS device. By entering a variant code via the device, selecting customer specific operational settings from a list of available features (VKM) or automatically by selecting a specific coding process.
Note: Codable control modules/components are system specific, which means that not all control modules are codable.

Module Recoding
3 modules need to be recoded from auto to manual: ECU, ABS and cluster. You cannot recode a module when it has a fault, therefore it would be best to recode BEFORE removing the transmission and TCU. At a minimum, you need the TCU and the gear selector switch installed. You'll need to recode the ABS module first, as it seems to find fault with everyone else, then the ECU, then the cluster. With no recoding, the ABS/ESP lights are on and non-functional, ECU and cluster throw codes for the missing TCU. With cluster and ECU recoded, the ABS module gets more angry and flashes the brake light. You can recode the cluster at any time. It has the same kind of timebomb built in. If you need v21 you need to reflash it, end of story. Also people don't buy mpps to make boot mode for every write, if that's what your intentions are that's just foolish.

Please buy a MPPS V18 interface instead, if you need a MPPS cable.

yesterday i have tested mpps v18 into myFord Focus 2 edc16c34.
read about 10 min and write 3-4 min


Focus, read 3 sectors about 10 min and write 4,20 min than wait 3 min.
after that 3 min i wait another 2 min, like software says.


MPPS is renown for Issues on the Focus 1.6tdci Edc16 ecu,
so much so i never ever tried, always same story mpps.
Always used Fgtech on these, and no issues,

i would BDM or use any tool other than MPPS w****ver version

i come back with news about edc16c34 Ford
the news is this is a good tool.
mpps did not corrupt my eep, file that i was made it was bad, in my happines and stupidity i put into IQ maps, 65mg fuel without changing IQ limit, 60mg
i have write that file with galletto and same problem.
today i have write another file (good one) with mpps v18 and it was verry good.

Versicherungs-Detektive sind komplett finanziell von Versicherungen abhängig, bekommen vordiktiert was von einer Überwachung zu erwarten ist, stehen enorm unter Erfolgsdruck. Bei Überwachungsprotokollen ensteht der Eindruck, dass diese schon vorgeschrieben sind, sich nur in Namen und Zeitpunkt der zu überwachenden Person unterscheiden. Tips and Guides for Users with Galletto V54 China Clone

After reading this thread, I bought a Galletto V54 china clone, and hope it will be as they told me it would be. Here are some tips that I copied from hard-working friends that were willing to help us:
Tip 1: obd R-W with temp under 50° only on renault-bosch diesel
renault-siemens diesel dont have this strategy
Tip 2: tprot on vag are present from 05/2009 but is very random this option, is most present on engine with low power and is not compeer to years or ecu type.
the best way to know if tp is active is always bootmode and read tag on file
Tip 3: desold resonator, clean central hole, place a piece of ribbon or paper on central hole, resold up the quartz.
Tip 4: don't use FGtech china for checksum correction, there are better ways like using Winols or something in that way.
Tip 5: Important is also U2. You have a rezistor and a cap instead of tranzistor and it has impact direct in bdm and bootmode.
Tip 6: U2 "S5B" is the same as "ADAA". Made by texas instruments.
Tip 7: You should have only one missing resistor, 4.7kohm near U19. The rest are empty places.
Tip 8: BDM timing is dependent of software and system clock (crystal or ceramic resonator), other components can't have no effect in speed.
Tip 9: ZVN and ZVP transistors are connected to OBD pins 2 and 10,
this two are used for J1850 protocol, so cars that use it, will not work (some ford e.g.)
Tip 10: the 70% of problem on this tool is not HW but SW....bad cracked and without stability (and old for v54_0386)....on HW you can play how you need.
Tip 11: V54(0386) is poor cloned version. Firmware need downgrade to V53(0475), then can use newest(11/2012) soft which is also better cracked than V54 soft.
Tip 12: SN 0386 and SN 0475 both is fw53 not 54 !
difference only one... 0386 use sw from 11/2012, 0475 use sw from 12/2012 (can read/write epp in pcr2.1 ecu)
Tip 13: fg 49-50-51-52 are ALWAYS v48!
Tip 14: Galletto eu have ONLY pcb better, nothing else!
v53_0475 china hw-sw upgraded is better
Tip 15: desold resonator Y1, clean central hole, place a piece of ribbon or paper on central hole, resold up the quartz.
Tip 16: replaced Q20 with 2N7000
Tip 17: usb cable from tool to computer, bad quality
Tip 18: -v54 and v53 have same pcb, not the same fw, you need change fw inside LPC2119 and use v53_0475 sw
-you MUST change all components to have stable tool
-aes use the same SW and FW of v54 china, very bad!

The problem is that the board is clamped in the housing. After assembly, the unit is pressurized from both sides. If you look at the sides, you can see the place in which it is clamped in these places charge clamped body. If you try to pull the plug, it may damage the contacts. (They break off at the point of bending, while the output of the board.)

- I tested it worked, MED17.5.5 Audi A3 2.0T Sport 2012

- Vag med17.5 worked
- you can r/w if ecu is TC1766 (without tprot), if tc1767 only boot mode
- Golf GTI MK6 MY2011 works very well (ECU & DSG).
- Golf 7, This ecu cant be read OBD with Kess, you need to have file before from server etc.
You can read with Ktag, but ugly job to open ecu..

If the sw asks you to TURN OFF THE POWER SUPPLY FOR 2 SECONDS, please follow it.If the power is not off for 2 seconds, the pop-up might be appeared again in the interface. So, just turn it off for 2s and use the sw.

Wir sind heute 27.6.18 um ca. 15 Uhr mit längeren Haaren und bräuneren Häuptern von unserem Trip heimgekehrt. Alles noch ganz, munter und wohlauf. Danke für euer Dabeisein und auf Wiedersehen bei anderen Gelegenheiten. Nadja und Beno

Auf der heutigen Velotour in der Umgebung von la Clayette ist uns dieses Schloss begegnet. Interessant war vor allem der Gefangenenturm, welcher vor dem Schloss ohne Eintritt zu bezahlen besichtigt werden konnte. Es war einfach sich vorzustellen, wie es einem armen Sünder hier ergangen ist. Harter Steinboden, Klo aus Stein (einfach ein Loch), ein Fenster 10x40cm und das wars auch schon. Es lässt auch darauf schliessen, dass die früheren Herrschaftsfamilien mit ihren Untertanen nicht grad zimperlich umgegangen sind. Übrigens gibt es in Frankreich gefühlt mehr Schlösser und Herrschaftshäuser als Einwohner. Es gibt kein noch so kleines Kaff, welches nicht irgend ein solches, wohl kaum zahlbares Objekt aufweist. Teilweise können diese zwar spottbillig gekauft werden. Der Unterhalt wird wohl immens sein und oft sind sie auch nicht in gutem Zustand.
